I’m not a lawyer nor a professional web developer. So, I’d prefer my site just to be fun.
Still, the web has become something of a legal jungle, so I figure that it is better to have some sort of TOS for a site where other may post content.
Most of this just applies to the invited guest photographers.

1. Any images uploaded by a user remain the property of that user or whatever party holds the copyright.
By uploading images, a user does not surrender his/her copyright or ownership of the images.
Only upload images that you have taken yourself, do not upload images you have taken from other web sites.
Those are usually copyrighted.
If you see pictures by another travel photographer that would fit here nicely, please contact me.
Maybe I can send an invitation to her/him.

2. All posts express the views of the author, not the forum and its administration

This site is mostly about images, but also has a comment function.
While the administrators of this site will attempt to remove or edit objectionable or illegal material as quickly as possible, it is impossible to review every post/comment.
Therefore, you acknowledge that all posts made to these forums express the views and opinions of the author and not the administrators, moderators, or webmaster (except for posts by these) and hence will not be held liable.

3. No Illegal Content

You are not allowed to post, discuss, or link to any content that is regarded by law as protected and might lead to infringement of copyright.
Do not upload pornography, racist material or any other illegal content.
Doing so will result in an immediate cancellation of your user account.

4. You must participate an appropriate manner

You agree not to post any abusive, vulgar, obscene, racist, slanderous, hateful, threatening, or  otherwise offensive material.
Doing so may lead to you being immediately and permanently banned.
You agree that the webmaster, and administrators of this site have the right to remove, edit, or move your post should they see fit.
As a user you agree to any information you have entered being stored in a database.
While this information will not be disclosed to any third party without your consent, the webmaster and administrators cannot be held responsible for any hacking attempt that may lead to the data being compromised.

5. There is no guarantee of permanence. This is a private, non-commercial site.
My other sites have existed for many years on the web without problem and I do not expect major problems.
Still, the wise thing to do is to leave the original of any photo you post on your PC.
Very big pictures will be automatically downsized to web-compatible dimensions - so the “copy” on my site is not a real backup of the original anyway!
 
If something unforeseen happens and everything is destroyed, or if I find it necessary to close the site for any reason,
users have no right to demand any compensation.
